Since first opening its doors in 1986, La Vista has always been a family owned and operated hotel, making it one of the few traditional boutique hotels in St. Maarten. The name "La Vista" Spanish translation for "The View" was chosen because of the slightly elevated location of the hotel's first building revealing spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean sea.
